New York, NY - SolarPath Sun Solutions announced the newest installation of its HighLight Series ML80 pole-mounted area lighting at McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. With 9 banks of LEDs, the ML80 solar fixture represents SolarPath’s largest area lighting solution and is used primarily for parking and street lighting with mounting on 30 foot poles.
When McGuire Medical Center sought the replacement of their deteriorating parking lot lighting system, they wanted to avoid the costly trenching, pouring of conduit, and rewiring required when building electrical infrastructure. Although architectural grade solar lighting fixtures bring a higher premium then traditional lighting solutions, their ease of installation, lack of maintenance as well as being an off-the-grid power source make them an upfront cost savings for any project requiring new electrical infrastructure.
“I was amazed that I could get up that many fixtures in single day”, remarked Bobby Kreisheimer of Richmond, who was the contractor for the project. ”On a project of this scope, I typically would spend a week just wiring the fixtures; instead I was able to just bolt the new fixtures to the poles already in place and walk away. Now, I can light the same amount of area in a fraction of the time.”
